Just the business.
I’ve been very busy lately but I feel compelled to fill all my faithful readers in on the latest news.
Fred! is out so now the only viable alternative is Romney so vote for him when you get the chance. If you are reading this and are a McCain supporter, you are presumably lost. Hit the road. This man is responsible for McCain-Feingold (suppression of free speech disguised as campaign finance reform), McCain-Kennedy(aka “Shamnesty” disguised as “comprehensive” immigration reform), and he voted against the Bush Tax Cuts. NO, I will not vote for him in the general. If the country is going to go down the toilet, let the Democrats put their nametag on it I say.
After watching the State of the Union, I was reminded just how much I once liked George W. Bush. The guy has his issues; there is no question, “Shamnesty” for one, and spending for another. However, he seems to have gotten the message on the latter and as much as “comprehensive” immigration reform makes my forehead vein bulge, I would still probably take him over all of the current Republican nominees. The guy has gotten the worst possible rap from the newsmedia for the last seven years. It’s been so effective that even some of the stoutest “W” fans have abandoned him. The question is “why?” If you are one of these people, do me a favor and think hard on it.
On another equally important front, I have a newsflash for you. The Giants are horrible! I find it shocking that Superbowl Sunday is nearly upon us and they are in it. I don’t like the Giants, I never liked the Giants but you know what I like less than the Giants? You guessed it, Tom Brady & Bill Belichick. I never really could pin down why but here is a start. Then there is THIS which makes me like the Giants just a wee-bit more than I used to.
Bryan, over at Hot Air reminds us which party is for Tax Relief.
I was going to comment on Hillary, Obama, Ted Kennedy’s endorsement, Sheryl Crow showing not just her leftist bent but also her extreme ignorance and much much more but the mere thought of wasting the next few minutes being reminded of such crap has now made my head hurt. You will have to wait.
For the love of America, root for Romney in FL.
It’s official, I’m with Fred!
I’m sure many of you have been waiting with baited breath to see who I would finally endorse in the upcoming Republican Primaries. It’s now official. I’m with Fred! After much ado and review, I have come to the conclusion, he is the only real option.
I came to my decision in two ways, first, by process of elimination.
It goes without saying but the Democrats are automatically eliminated. In fact, they are full of eliminations! When they aren’t, it makes their positions that much more worrisome. As far as the Republicans go, I am actually surprised and impressed to see that they are really trying to get my vote as a fiscal conservative who wants a candidate who is strong on the War on Terror, thinks we need to get serious about cracking down on ILLEGAL immigration, wants lower taxes, less government and an end to the ridiculous crap that is ruining my America like giving condoms to teenagers, multicultural studies in school, letting vicious criminals roam the streets and other things the ACLU, NOW and Moveon.org tend to support. Before this election cycle began, I never would have believed that any of the candidates would have come so close to being concerned about what concerns me. Believe me, I am thrilled to think that that they believe there is 50% of the voting public that agrees with my value system. You know, the value system that is the foundation of our beloved U.S. of A. I hope they are right. I’m afraid the stench of liberalism may now have the majority. Who knows? Hopefully, I’m just biased because I see it all around in me because I live in a blue state.
So, the bottom line with the Republicans is: Do I believe them?
I think Huck is a fraud capitalizing on the automatic support gained by touting his evangelic Christian credentials. The thing is. I don’t trust him on taxes or immigration. In fact, I can’t find anyone who does. Who are all these Iowans and what are they smoking? Tancredo tanked and Hunter is in single digits. Then you have Rudy. Rudy would have my support but it not for his success in the blue state of NY. It scares me that a guy could get along so well with so many liberals. Some big negatives for Rudy are his comments on guns, specifially this one. “The more guns you take out of society, the more you’re going to reduce murder. The less you take out of society, the more it’s going to go up.” -Rudy Giuliani, June 20, 2000. A lie and he knows it. I don’t need to elaborate. This leaves us with Fred!, McCain, and Romney. First, let me say that I like McCain and lately he has grown on me mainly due to his reversing many of his past RINO positions. For instance, when he had the opportunity to vote on them, he was against the Bush taxcuts. A few days ago, he said it was because he wanted to go farther down the road of fiscal conservatism. That I really liked hearing. It’s just that the guy has such a past of RINOism, I can’t take the chance. He is just way too eager to compromise, ie. “cave in to the libs”. Then you have Romney, he is borderline acceptable also but here, again, you have a guy who was really successful in a blue state. To me, some of that Dodd-like slime has to rub off on you. I mean sure, he’s on board today with taxcuts and building fences but when does he go all “Manchurian Candidate” on us. I just can’t do it. This leave us with Fred!
You can also get to Fred by doing things the way he does, talking about the positive future of conservatism. I will let his words speak for themselves.
Below is Fred’s message to Iowa voters on the eve of the eve of the Iowa Primary.
